You already know what's wrong with the culture.
Now let's practice something different.
You are a program director, a senior leader, a person who holds the weight of the mission and the weight of your team — often at the same time. You have read the frameworks. You have been to the trainings. You know the language of cultures of care by heart.
And still, the meetings run long, the team is burning out, and somewhere underneath the strategic plan, people are quietly disappearing from themselves.
You are not failing. You are working inside systems that were never designed to hold human beings. And you are ready to do something about it- you are ready to give your full attention to practicing a world that feels beautiful, connected and deliciously nourished with an integration that actually changes how it feels to be in the room together.
As leaders, directors, and program managers it is your job to make bold and brave moves right now.
That is what By Moonlight is for.
“To rest in a capitalist world takes practice and meticulous care.” - Tricia Hersey
By Moonlight is an art-centered healing justice facilitation practice that helps leaders and their teams move beyond the theory of cultures of care — and into the practice of shamelessly resting, wildly creating, and relentlessly loving every single day.
We work with program officers, directors, and senior staff who are done waiting for their organization to get it together — and are ready to start practicing a different world from wherever they stand.

“What stands out most about Sojourner’s work is their ability to integrate rest, connection, and creativity into non-profit and leadership spaces in ways that feel both radical and necessary. In a culture that often prioritizes output over well-being, they remind us that joy and community care are not luxuries but essential tools for liberation.”

“Sojourner makes rest — during a 90 minute work day session, no less! — more possible. They help me see that each action toward healing, done with intention, has an impact. I also love how they host spaces of deep care and thoughtfulness that support complex conversations. Sojourner has helped our team move through conflict, burnout, resentment, grief— play, desire, compassion for ourselves and each other.”

“We were a group of office folk who were mostly unfamiliar with meditative practices. Sojourner made us feel at ease as they guided us through simple loosening and awareness exercises. All we had was a conference room full of swivel chairs, but for half an hour, it was a temple. When we returned to our work, we all felt open and ready to let the creative juices flow..”

Are You a Good Fit For By Moonlight?
-
Are you willing to pause — even just a little?
The people who gain the most from working with By Moonlight are not necessarily the ones whose organizations have it figured out. They are the ones who are willing to slow down enough to feel what is actually happening — and make a new commitment based on what they find. With a slow and steady pace forward, we course correct when there is a slide back into old ways.

Are you ready to explore embodiment and creativity?
All lasting change happens at the body and nervous system level. While By Moonlight values processing in our minds, we often center body wisdom using somatic exercises, play, and gentle movement to arrive at individual and collective truths.
By Moonlight relies heavily on creative modalities of inquiry such as, movement, visual arts, crafting, breath work, meditation, and collective singing to help us step into the world we imagine, starting from within.
